CIRCUS TRAIN

Lyrics by: Gary Barlough

——————————————————————–

Time to shed this thin disguise
Wipe the stars from my eyes
Ground is shakin’ and my ticket’s paid
These tracks, they were custom made
Four seasons, in my arms
Why they’re the ones I’ll take along
Ringleader won’t you call my name
Step inside that magic flame
All aboard for parts unknown
Said the whistler to the stone
Pick a seat inside the train,
Keep you dry in the pouring rain

I see the sun, through the pain
It appears, then it’s gone again
All eyes must change in time
As our wheels roll down the line
Just a little burst of steam
Round the corner, is all we need
Seems the circus has found a town
And the wheels have left the ground
All aboard for parts unknown
Said the whistler to the stone
Pick a seat inside the train,
Keep you dry in the pouring rain

(final verse -played live, but not found on the CD)
There’s a sign inside that train
Why either way, it reads the same
What you left around the bend
Might just be there in the end
So don’t you cry, no don’t you fret
We travel with no regret
Ain’t no reason to despair
For you can catch it anywhere
All aboard for parts unknown
Said the whistler to the stone
Pick a seat inside the train,
Keep you dry in the pouring rain
